NOW Foods Optimal Digestive System is a blend of enzymes of microbial origin (fungi and yeast), in vegetable capsules. Each serving of 2 capsules provides the BioCore Optimum™ blend (200 mg) and 30 mg of alpha-galactosidase.

The formula includes enzymes from several classes: amylase, glucoamylase and diastase (which act on starch and other carbohydrates), proteases (proteins), lipase (fats), invertase (sucrose) and alpha-galactosidase (oligosaccharides found, for example, in pulses and cabbages).

Enzymes are proteins that occur naturally in all living things. The activity of each enzyme is given in its own units (DU, HUT, SAPU, FIP, etc.), as shown in the nutrition table.
