Frequently Asked Questions

What is Vitamin D3 for?

Vitamin D contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscles and to the normal function of the immune system. The body produces vitamin D mainly through sun exposure.

It is a high dose: 5000 IU = 125 mcg, 2500% NRV (5 mcg). EFSA sets 100 mcg per day as the tolerable upper intake level for adults, so this dose should only be used with medical assessment and supervision.

Take 1 softgel per day with a meal containing fat.

No. The D3 comes from lanolin and the softgel is made of bovine gelatin. For a vegan D3, look for a formula with lichen-derived D3 in a vegetable capsule.
