NOW Foods Ashwagandha 450 mg provides, in each vegetarian capsule, 450 mg of ashwagandha extract (Withania somnifera, root and leaf), standardised to a minimum of 2.5% total withanolides (11 mg per capsule).

Ashwagandha is a plant of the nightshade family, native to India, the Middle East and parts of Africa, with a long tradition of use in Ayurvedic medicine. Withanolides are compounds naturally present in the plant; the extract is standardised to ensure a consistent minimum content of these compounds in each capsule.
