What are vitamins D3 and K2 for?

Vitamin D contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, to the maintenance of normal muscle function and to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting and to the maintenance of normal bones.

It is a brand of vitamin K2 in the form of menaquinone-7 (MK-7), soy-free. Each capsule provides 180 mcg of vitamin K2 MK-7 MenaQ7®.

NOW Foods recommends 1 capsule per day with a meal that contains fat. As the vitamin D3 dose (125 mcg) is above the EFSA tolerable upper intake level, use it only under medical supervision with monitoring of your vitamin D levels.

People taking anticoagulants (such as warfarin), because vitamin K may interact with these medicines, and people with hypercalcaemia, kidney disease or hyperparathyroidism. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor.
