What is magnesium malate and what does malic acid do?

It's magnesium bound to malic acid, an organic acid found in fruits such as apples that takes part in the Krebs cycle, one of the pathways of the cells' energy metabolism. Magnesium, in turn, contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.

Bisglycinate is generally the gentlest form on the stomach. Citrate is widely used but can have a laxative effect at high doses. Malate combines magnesium with malic acid and is generally well tolerated. The choice depends on your tolerance and preference.

The serving is 1 tablet per day, preferably with a meal. Each tablet provides 1000 mg of magnesium malate, i.e. 115 mg of elemental magnesium (31% NRV).
