Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between raw maca and gelatinised maca?

Gelatinised maca goes through a heat and pressure process that removes part of the starch, making the root more concentrated and generally easier to digest. Despite the name "Raw", this NOW Foods product uses gelatinised organic maca as a 6:1 concentrate.

It means about 6 g of fresh root are needed to obtain 1 g of concentrate. So each 750 mg capsule is equivalent to about 4500 mg of fresh maca root.

NOW Foods recommends 1 capsule, 1 to 2 times per day. You can take it in the morning or during the day, preferably with a meal.

Yes. The capsules are made of hypromellose (plant cellulose) and there are no animal-derived ingredients. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, Kosher, non-GMO and GMP.
