Frequently Asked Questions

What is L-tryptophan?

L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid: the body does not produce it, so it must be obtained from the diet. It occurs naturally in protein-rich foods such as eggs, dairy products, fish, meat, pulses and seeds.

Each capsule contains 500 mg of L-tryptophan. The daily serving is 1 capsule; the 60-capsule pack lasts 60 days.

Take 1 capsule per day with a glass of water. Osavi recommends taking it 30 minutes before bedtime.

Not without medical advice. L-tryptophan should not be taken together with antidepressants (SSRIs, MAOIs), triptans or other medicines acting on serotonin, because of the risk of interaction. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
